On June 8, 2026, representatives of the Churches met with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The participants discussed a range of issues related to further cooperation between Parliament and the religious community, particularly in the process of reviewing socially significant legislative initiatives.

Special attention during the meeting was given to the draft of the new Civil Code of Ukraine—a foundational act of private law intended to ensure modern, human-centered regulation of private legal relations based on the fundamental human rights enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine.

In the context of discussing the Civil Code draft, the participants emphasized the importance of maintaining an open and responsible dialogue on issues concerning the individual, the family, human dignity, and freedom of conscience and religion.

Representatives of Churches and religious organizations expressed their readiness to participate in expert discussions of socially significant draft laws. On this occasion, the religious leaders invited the Speaker of Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, to the ceremonial events marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations.

The meeting between representatives of the Churches and the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, was attended by Senior Bishop Anatoliy Kozachok of the Ukrainian Pentecostal Church; Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christian Baptists, Igor Bandura; Head of the Ukrainian Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Roman Prodaniuk; Head of the Department of External Relations of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine, Mitred Archpriest Oleksa Petriv; Mitred Archpriest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Vitalii Danchak; Member of Parliament of Ukraine, Viktor Myalyk; and Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Religious Freedom, Oleksandr Zaiets.
