Representatives of Ukrainian churches and religious organizations met with the advocacy team of the US-based Razom Foundation. The delegation was headed by Mariya Soroka, co-founder of the foundation and head of the advocacy team in the United States. 

The participants of meeting discussed prospects for cooperation in various areas. The event took place on June 9, 2023, at the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy.

The American delegation also included:

  • Scott Cullinane, Senior Government Rations Advisor at Razom; 
  • Greg Kulchyckyj, Associate Director of Government Affairs;
  • Maryna Maiboroda, Senior Associate, Sustainable Development Initiative at the United Nations Foundation;
  • Katya Pavlevych, communications and PR expert at Razom;
  • Oleksiy Zakharchenko, Communications Director of the "Together for Ukraine" Charitable Foundation.

Representatives of the Razom Foundation spoke about the results of their work in Ukraine during the war and about their advocacy efforts in support of Ukraine at the international level. 

Ukrainian religious leaders shared their experience of interfaith cooperation in the format of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations and told about the humanitarian activities of Ukrainian churches during the Russian aggression.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Roman Catholic Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Ukrainian Pentecostal Church, the Ukrainian Lutheran Church, the Religious Administration of Ukrainian Muslims, and the Institute for Religious Freedom.

The American non-profit foundation Razom is a network of 175,000 philanthropists and volunteers who have raised more than $88 million for emergency aid to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The foundation works with experts, policymakers and voters in the United States to build a democratic and prosperous Ukraine.
