Pro-Russian militants released Pentecostal pastor Taras Sen from captivity in Luhansk region PDF Print E-mail

Pentecostal pastor of Sverdlovsk city in Luhansk region, Taras Sen, was seized by militants of self-proclaimed “Luhansk Peoples’ Republic” (LNR) for four days.

He was taken to an unknown location on Sunday, 27 September 2015, by armed separatists acting in the name of the “LNR”. After publicity of the incident, pastor Taras Sen was released on Thursday, 1 October, the Institute for Religious Freedom reports.

The Pentecostal Church of Sverdlovsk city conducts enormous social work in support of residents of eastern Ukraine, who have suffered from the Russian aggression. The Evangelical Christians are well known throughout the Donbas and Ukraine for distributing food and clothes to the needy and internally displaced persons.
The report by human rights organizations provides a detailed overview of widespread and serious violations of the rights of religious believers in separatists-controlled areas of Donbas in the eastern Ukraine.
